Esa frase dicha por Steve Jobs en 2010 ahora representa uno de los grandes problemas para Facebook, una red social cuyo principal negocio se basa en la publicidad y al cual Apple ha impactado con las nuevas disposiciones en su sistema operativo.<\/p>\n<p>Tras la actualizaci\u00f3n de iOS 14.5, la compa\u00f1\u00eda integr\u00f3 la funci\u00f3n App Tracking Transparency (ATT), con la cual el usuario tiene la posibilidad de decidir si las aplicaciones que instale en su dispositivo pueden recopilar o no su informaci\u00f3n con fines publicitarios.<\/p>\n<p>Dicho movimiento es importante, pues antes de esto la recabaci\u00f3n de datos se hac\u00eda por defecto, al aceptar los t\u00e9rminos y condiciones de las apps, algo que no mucha gente lee. Incluso Android dio a conocer que tambi\u00e9n implementar\u00e1n medidas similares a partir del segundo trimestre del 2022.<\/p>\n<p>El impacto fue tal que un par de semanas despu\u00e9s de su implementaci\u00f3n, una estad\u00edstica hecha a usuarios de Apple en Estados Unidos revel\u00f3 que el 96% hab\u00eda decidido bloquear el rastreo de aplicaciones , entre las cuales destacan Facebook e Instagram, mismas que emprendieron campa\u00f1as para evitar esta acci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de anuncios donde dec\u00edan que su servicio dejar\u00eda de ser gratuito.<\/p>\n<p>Para Alfonso L\u00f3pez, jefe de tecnolog\u00eda en la agencia Wunderman Thompson, la iniciativa de Apple no es sorpresiva y est\u00e1 orientada a devolverle a las personas el poder de decidir si quieren que las plataformas obtengan informaci\u00f3n de ellos. Sin embargo, resalta que esta medida va a impactar en el negocio de la publicidad digital, pues actualmente \u201cla recolecci\u00f3n de datos se ha convertido en el nuevo petr\u00f3leo\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Fernanda Gonz\u00e1lez, directora de cuentas de la agencia de marketing EPA Digital, coincide en que el mundo publicitario se va a modificar a partir de estas propuestas, ya que no ser\u00e1 posible ver informaci\u00f3n que antes se usaba para optimizar sus campa\u00f1as.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEl mercado est\u00e1 en un proceso de reinventar la optimizaci\u00f3n de las campa\u00f1as. Todav\u00eda no sabemos cu\u00e1l ser\u00e1 la manera exacta para alcanzar este objetivo\u201d, comenta Gonz\u00e1lez, quien resalta que la tendencia debe estar orientada hacia cuidar la interacci\u00f3n de las marcas con los clientes de manera constante y anal\u00edtica para definir el mejor camino.<\/p>\n<p>La defensa de Facebook<\/p>\n<p>Tras la decisi\u00f3n de Apple, Facebook se mostr\u00f3 en desacuerdo, pues argumentan que el mensaje del fabricante del iPhone \u201cest\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado para presentar una falsa elecci\u00f3n entre anuncios personalizados y privacidad cuando, de hecho, podemos proveer ambas. El mensaje de Apple tampoco da contexto sobre los beneficios de la publicidad personalizada\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Sobre este asunto, L\u00f3pez destaca que la postura de Apple debe ser de mayor claridad, pues la iniciativa no implica la eliminaci\u00f3n de la publicidad, sino que el usuario seguir\u00e1 viendo anuncios, pero estos dejar\u00e1n de ser contextualizados, es decir, menos relevantes para la persona.<\/p>\n<p>Asimismo, Facebook ha dicho que la nueva pol\u00edtica tendr\u00e1 un impacto desfavorable en las peque\u00f1as empresas que luchan por mantenerse a flote por medio de internet, pues \u201cafectar\u00e1n directamente su capacidad para utilizar sus presupuestos publicitarios de manera efectiva y eficiente\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Por otra parte, un elemento que igualmente se ha criticado a la empresa de Cupertino es el hecho de que los anunciantes que quieran colocar publicidad en los iPhone obtendr\u00e1n m\u00e1s datos sobre el rendimiento de sus campa\u00f1as si compran el espacio directamente a la compa\u00f1\u00eda. \u201cEs mi bal\u00f3n y no quiero que juegues con \u00e9l\u201d, menciona Alfonso L\u00f3pez para ejemplificar la actitud Apple.<\/p>\n<p>En este sentido, el especialista resalta que una posici\u00f3n de esta naturaleza otorga una \u201cfalsa percepci\u00f3n de seguridad\u201d a los usuarios. Adem\u00e1s, destaca que ellos est\u00e1n en medio de una disputa entre compa\u00f1\u00edas por sus datos, lo cual produce que no sean vistos como un consumidor dentro de las plataformas, sino como un producto que las empresas venden a las marcas.<\/p>\n<p>No obstante, L\u00f3pez argumenta que si bien la iniciativa de Apple es relevante, una medida de esta naturaleza debe provenir \u201cde una entidad regulatoria con impacto global\u201d y no necesariamente de una empresa, pues estas las plantean desde un punto de vista estrat\u00e9gico.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, comenta que las marcas deben cambiar de rumbo en su relaci\u00f3n con los clientes, con el fin de dejar de depender de los conglomerados de datos que las plataformas pueden proporcionar y, m\u00e1s bien, construir un nivel de confianza tal que sean los propios usuarios los que entreguen informaci\u00f3n acerca de los productos y servicios que quieren consumir.
