Desde entonces (2005) y sobre todo en a\u00f1os recientes, cada vez m\u00e1s personas escuchan podcast producidos por casas productoras, grupos de medios y productores independientes que en 2022 alcanzar\u00e1n a una audiencia de 34 millones de mexicanos.       <\/p>\n<p>En 2020, 22 millones de personas en M\u00e9xico escucharon un podcast mensualmente. Esta cifra aument\u00f3 a 28 millones de personas en 2021 y de acuerdo con el Global Entertainment &amp; Media Outlook 2021\u20132025 de PwC, en 2022 se estima que este tipo de contenido alcance a 34 millones de personas. Para 2025, la consultora proyecta que un tercio de la poblaci\u00f3n mexicana (40 millones) escuche al menos un podcast al mes.<\/p>\n<p>El aumento en el consumo de podcast en M\u00e9xico tambi\u00e9n se evidencia con el incremento en el gasto en publicidad en podcast que hacen las marcas. Seg\u00fan el reporte de PwC, el gasto en publicidad para podcast en 2022 ser\u00e1 de 21 millones de d\u00f3lares y proyecta que para 2025, esta cifra crezca hasta los 44 millones de d\u00f3lares.<\/p>\n<p>Para eMarketer, sin embargo, si bien la velocidad de crecimiento del n\u00famero de oyentes de podcast en M\u00e9xico ser\u00e1 de doble d\u00edgito, con 13.5%, el total de la audiencia de podcast en el pa\u00eds ser\u00e1 25.8% de los usuarios de internet en M\u00e9xico, es decir, casi 22 millones de personas, lo que dista de los 34 millones proyectados por PwC.   <\/p>\n<p>Oyente hispano   <\/p>\n<p>En Am\u00e9rica Latina, Espa\u00f1a y Estados Unidos, una de cada cinco personas que escuchan podcast en espa\u00f1ol frecuentemente es mexicana, seg\u00fan los resultados de la Encuesta Pod 2021, que se ha convertido en un referente entre las fuentes de informaci\u00f3n sobre las audiencias de podcast en espa\u00f1ol y que fue realizada a partir de la informaci\u00f3n provista por 2,051 personas que se consideran oyentes activos de podcast.<\/p>\n<p>El perfil del oyente de podcast en Am\u00e9rica Latina, de acuerdo con la Encuesta Pod 2021, est\u00e1 integrado en su mayor\u00eda por hombres (53.68% frente a 43.78% de mujeres), de entre 25 y 44 a\u00f1os de edad, que son empleados a tiempo completo y que tienen un nivel educativo alto, pues siete de cada 10 tiene estudios universitarios.<\/p>\n<p>La mayor\u00eda de la audiencia de podcast en espa\u00f1ol usa el tel\u00e9fono (smartphone) para acceder a este tipo de contenido, el cual suele escuchar mientras realiza alguna tarea del hogar, mientras cocina, camina, trabaja o descansa. Los oyentes escuchan podcast principalmente porque quieren aprender algo nuevo, pero tambi\u00e9n para entretenerse y para distraerse.  <\/p>\n<p>Narraci\u00f3n y conversaci\u00f3n seducen a la audiencia     <\/p>\n<p>Dado que Spotify es la plataforma que domina, de forma avasalladora, el mercado del contenido de audio en streaming, es posible tomar  la lista de podcast m\u00e1s escuchados en M\u00e9xico a trav\u00e9s de esta aplicaci\u00f3n como un retrato de las preferencias de la audiencia de podcast en el pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan los primeros 10 lugares de este r\u00e1nking para 2021, los podcast narrativos y los de entretenimiento est\u00e1n entre los m\u00e1s escuchados de las audiencias mexicanas. El podcast conversacional (chatcast) de comedia La cotorrisa, que tambi\u00e9n se transmite en video a trav\u00e9s de YouTube y Facebook, fue el m\u00e1s escuchado por los mexicanos en 2021. <\/p>\n<p>Le sigue Leyendas Legendarias, un podcast que mezcla la narraci\u00f3n y la conversaci\u00f3n y que es producido por Sonoro, una de las casas productoras de M\u00e9xico que ha apostado con fuerza por la narraci\u00f3n, con series como Toxicoman\u00eda, que fue producido y protagonizado por el actor Luis Gerardo M\u00e9ndez, o Sed, que protagoniza Tenoch Huerta.
