El LEAF es el ejemplo m\u00e1s claro: fue el pionero de la categor\u00eda y lleg\u00f3 a trazar un camino que hoy todav\u00eda se encuentra en construcci\u00f3n. Todo este tiempo ha llevado a Nissan a una conclusi\u00f3n: la soluci\u00f3n m\u00e1s pr\u00e1ctica para M\u00e9xico es, por ahora, el Nissan Kicks e-POWER.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfCu\u00e1l es la diferencia entre un sistema e-POWER y uno el\u00e9ctrico convencional? Que el EV no utiliza gasolina, pero se tiene que enchufar; el Kicks e-POWER s\u00ed usa gasolina, pero no necesita conectarse. En un LEAF, por ejemplo, la energ\u00eda se almacena en una gran bater\u00eda que se abastece de una toma de corriente, pero en Kicks e-POWER la bater\u00eda es peque\u00f1a porque la energ\u00eda no se almacena ah\u00ed, sino en un tanque de gasolina, que se utiliza para alimentar a un generador, cuya \u00fanica responsabilidad es generar la electricidad para que el motor el\u00e9ctrico sea el que impulse al auto.<\/p>\n<p>Esto significa que la propulsi\u00f3n del auto depende por completo de la electricidad, de modo que transmite las sensaciones de manejo de un EV, pero con la practicidad de no depender de cargadores ni de largos tiempos de espera hasta llenar la bater\u00eda. Basta con pasar a la gasolinera, como en cualquier otro auto.<\/p>\n<p>Hablemos de n\u00fameros. El Nissan Kicks e-POWER lleva un motor (generador) a gasolina de 1.2 litros, cuya potencia no es relevante para la aceleraci\u00f3n, pero desarrolla 80.46 hp y 75.98 lb-pie. Las cifras que importan son las del motor el\u00e9ctrico: env\u00eda 134 hp y 209 lb-pie directamente al eje delantero.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan Nissan, el rendimiento de combustible en ciudad es de 24.8 km\/l, y de 21.7 km\/l en carretera. Esto significar\u00eda que puede recorrer hasta 1,016 km por carga en ciudad, aunque hay que recordar que se trata de n\u00fameros sobre el papel. No hemos tenido la oportunidad de conducir el Kicks e-POWER lo suficiente para analizar su rendimiento real.<\/p>\n<p>De lo poco que lo he conducido, lo que m\u00e1s curiosidad me despert\u00f3 fue su generador. Casi todo el tiempo va encendido. Se apaga s\u00f3lo cuando dejamos que el Kicks se mueva por inercia o cuando aceleramos con sutileza \u2014y la bater\u00eda tiene buen nivel de carga\u2014. El ruido del generador no es totalmente plano; su sonido var\u00eda seg\u00fan la presi\u00f3n del acelerador y me recuerda, de alg\u00fan modo, a un efecto de aceleraci\u00f3n con caja CVT. Tiene tres modos de manejo: Eco, Normal y Sport. Cada uno puede, adem\u00e1s, funcionar en modo completamente el\u00e9ctrico (si el nivel de carga lo permite).<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfQu\u00e9 versiones de Nissan Kicks e-POWER llegan a M\u00e9xico?<\/p>\n<p>A M\u00e9xico llegan tres versiones: Advance, Exclusive y Platinum. Desde el m\u00e1s accesible incluye ESC, seis airbags, pantalla de 8&#8243;, climatizador autom\u00e1tico, freno de estacionamiento el\u00e9ctrico, faros de LED, rines de 17&#8243;, llave inteligente y servicios de Nissan Connect Services. A lo largo de la gama suma sensor de luz, m\u00e1s bocinas, tapicer\u00eda en piel y asistentes avanzados de manejo.<\/p>\n<p>Al interior hay pocos cambios respecto al Kicks que ya conocemos. Lo \u00fanico distinto es la consola central, que ya no lleva una palanca de cambios de siempre, sino la misma del Ariya, el SUV el\u00e9ctrico de Nissan. Los indicadores de la pantalla de 7&#8243; en el cuadro de instrumentos tambi\u00e9n son espec\u00edficos, para monitorear el flujo de energ\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfH\u00edbrido o no?<\/p>\n<p>OK, s\u00ed, Kicks e-POWER combina electricidad y gasolina, y no es un modelo libre de emisiones, pero su diferencia respecto a un auto h\u00edbrido es que aqu\u00ed la propulsi\u00f3n es completamente el\u00e9ctrica y que el motor a gasolina es m\u00e1s eficiente al generar electricidad que al impulsar un auto.<\/p>\n<p>Al final del d\u00eda, de cara al propietario, el beneficio es muy similar al de un auto h\u00edbrido en t\u00e9rminos de rendimiento de combustible; en t\u00e9rminos de manejo s\u00ed conserva las virtudes de un modelo 100% el\u00e9ctrico, porque al usar s\u00f3lo el motor el\u00e9ctrico es que tiene la cl\u00e1sica respuesta instant\u00e1nea de aceleraci\u00f3n, buen nivel de agilidad y, sobre todo, te vas acostumbrando al flujo de energ\u00eda en un auto el\u00e9ctrico, para estar listos cuando llegue el momento de decirle adi\u00f3s definitivamente a la gasolina.<\/p>\n<p>En lo que llega la infraestructura para abrirle la puerta a los autos el\u00e9ctricos, la tecnolog\u00eda de Nissan Kicks me parece un buen punto medio. A\u00fan no hay precios \u2014nos los dar\u00e1n a finales de este mes\u2014 pero podemos esperar algo entre 550 y 700 mil pesos.
